CST 300 - Week 1
This is our first official week of the CS Online Program. Before the program began, we were introduced to our team and were tasked to create a Team Name and Collective Resume. Our team had our first meeting and came up with the resume below:
From this week's reading and assignments, I learned about the History of CSUMB as well as the Vision Statement and the logistics of the School of Computing and Design. In addition, it is important to note that Strategies for Online Learning Success. These strategies are as follows:
- Read the Syllabus
- Plan your study time
- Actively Participate
- Collaborate in a respectful manner
The follow-up assignment on the Open Learning Initiative gave me an opportunity to decide how I would function in a team. Module 1 provided a video of a team meeting that was not organized well. The video itself was hard to watch. Here are a few takeaways from the video:
- Always have an agenda and team norms/expectations
- Be respectful of your fellow team members and their ideas
- Be comfortable with sharing ideas but also take them off the table, if needed
- Be flexible and comfortable with change
- Make sure everyone on the team has a voice
